PARKLANDS IN THE COMMUNITY

As a company we are keen to support the local community by actions that help to raise money.  In today’s climate of austerity this has become even more important to us.

We have supported many youth sports groups over the years, providing new team strips, sponsoring events, etc.

We have also raised money as a team for causes that are close to our hearts and the community we work in.

During 2014 the team voted to concentrate our support on a little boy called Archie Page.  Two year old Archie has a severe form of cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and a radiant smile that could melt your heart!

We enjoyed a summer of fundraising via our Big Bed Push through the towns and villages of Thanet (on the hottest day of the year!), our Big Summer BBQ with a huge auction and through sales of virtual bricks and badges.

We raised a total of £2,356 for Archie, which went towards a fantastic sensory garden with a covered shelter where he can play safely and develop his motor skills.

ARCHIE’S BIG BUILD - 20 April 2015

We popped along to Archie’s home today to celebrate Day One of Archie’s Big Build and to handover our cheque for the funds we raised last year (£2,356) to help build a ‘House for Archie’.

The many weeks of upheaval ahead for the family will result in a home suitable for Archie’s needs and a sensory garden where he will be able to play on specialist equipment or sit in a sheltered spot to enjoy the fresh air.

WESTGATE BOYS BRIGADE & GIRLS ASSOCIATION’S TEAM REACH THE NATIONAL BADMINTON FINALS IN EDINBURGH – April 2015

In April 2015 we were happy to sponsor the Westgate team’s trip to Edinburgh to take part in the finals on the 18th April.  The team came fifth overall in the very high standard competition, a massive achievement considering the winning 65th Edinburgh team had two international players.

The 1st Westgate Company Captain, David Lawless, said they played some of the best badminton that he had witnessed throughout the 5 rounds it took to reach the finals. 1st Westgate came 5th in the competition, beating the 16th Liverpool to become the English champions of the tournament.  Congratulations 1st Westgate!
